I've never owned a boat before, and am looking for a good fishing boat. I am looking to spend less than $2,000 and am looking for something without a gas powered motor. I want it to seat like 4 or 6. where do i look? what can i expect in owning a boat? what should i look for, and what should i avoid? I'll be using it on lakes/reservoirs in colorado. links and pics would be awesome! I'll vote your answer the best! thank you!

Less than $2000 on a new boat and trolling motor... trailer? electronics?... sorry to have to tell you this, but most boats in that range won't hold 6 people, and I'd be cautious about 4 as well. Most likely you'll be able to find some kind of jon boat (maybe something a little souped up, but still... a jon boat's a jon boat) I'd be leery about anything used in that price range as well... you'll probably end up sinking ~way~ more into repairs before it's floatable.
Always remember, two things I learned working at the local marina and Ranger dealership.... The two best days when owning a boat are the day you buy it and the day you get rid of it... and... a boat is a hole in the water that you throw money into.
