I have had kodak cameras all my life but now I am starting to really get into photography my mother is telling me not to stay with Kodak. I want a camera that lets me adjust more than just the zoom. I do want to stay digital but I am looking i guess for a beginner's professional camera that would be really good for outdoors and night time photos. I want a camera that allows me to adjust the exposure, with rechargeable batteries and isn't HUGE. I do not know how to go about looking for what I want, because as a beginner I don't know what specifications will provide me with what I need. I am a pretty decent photographer, course that is with a camera that has image stabilizing and controls exposure, but my photos are pretty nice, and it is fun so I am ready to take the next step up (so to speak) with cameras. Any suggestions?
maybe professional was the wrong word. here is more info on what i am looking for:
I'm not really an amateur so I'd like a camera with a little more functionality than the lower end point and shoot cameras. There doesn't have to be a screen on the front of the camera. I like being able to zoom in with video. i will be taking action shots and as i said before nighttime shots. High optical zoom is also a must.
