what is a good car to buy for £2000, for single guy living in the UK.?

Im buying a car soon, im a single man, no kids or wifey, so i need a decent size car for myself and maybe a few friends to fit in the back comfortably, I'd like back doors, medium engine, and don't mind if it's around 10 years old or newer.i live in the UK, so anyone have any ideas what would be the best car to get for between £2000 and £2200--- ive been told a ford focus is nice, im not sure i like it though (everyone has one, too common), any ideas. did i mention i live in the UK, not America, Thanks
