What is a good camera at a fair price for my photography class?

I need a 35mm. Manual or option to manual. Film, not digital. Under $175. This for a starting photography class. Exposure setting and all those specs. College class.

Get a used Pentax K-1000 with 50mm lens. Check ebay. It's the "standard" student camera.
