what is a good army career?

I am currently air defense as a patriot launching station operator.I've been Air Defense Command,Control,Computers,Communication and Intelligence before, that was alright. But I want something marketable.I was going to do Air Traffic Control, but I found out that since my eyesight isn't good,I don't qualify.I was going to do LASIK,but Tricare won't cover it,if I get it on my own buck I'm disqualified from that job,and if I hide that I get it,I'd be discharged. So now I'm back to square one.I don't want to work as an IT specialist, which is what I currently do as a contractor, because it's too unstable and you can become outmoded very quickly.Plus you always hear of companies laying off employees, some IT professionals who were not too far from retirement and then they lost it all because of budget cuts or something.I'm not too into mechanical work, and I feel it's important that you enjoy the job you have.So...where do I go from here?
