What is a good arch support made for athletics?

I was having arch pain while playing basketball and bought arch supports to put in my shoes. The arch ache went away but now the arch supports are causing blisters in the arch of my foot. Is there a certain type/brand of arch support that is made specifically for athletics? That won't cause blisters?
I wasn't getting blisters before the inserts, so I don't believe the shoes are the cause of those blisters.
