I just took my Mountaineer in to be fixed. I was told my throttle something scanner had malfunctioned and needed to be fixed. Well, now I was told I needed a cylinder body. Says it has something to do with my transmission (the mechanic says he will have to drain all of the transmission fluid to fix it). I was told that it affects my transmission and that if I dont have it fixed it will tear the transmission up. they want to charge $600 parts/labor. What is a cylinder body? Is it like my transmission fluid where only the dealership has the special tools to fix it or can someone else fix it? Thanks.
