What is a better car a Lincoln Mark 7 or Suburban?

I am looking at getting a car and am wondering which will be a better choice. A Lincoln Mark 7 or an 1987-1991 Suburban? Both are American made which i like and both are fairly easy to work on. Which one is more reliable? Which is better for a college student? I believe the Lincoln will get better gas mileage. What are your thoughts? Past experience? thx
