You have vertabrae in your spine with discs in between them. When certain problems arise, they remove a portion of the disc and sometimes have to fuse that "level". So it follows that a 4 level fusion means that there are 4 areas one after the other that are "bad" in some way and requires all 4 to be fused. This large of a fusion generally means roRAB and screws will be needed.
