What inexpensive external mic can I use for my Panasonic HDC-HS9?

My HDC-HS9 does not have an input for a mic. I need an external mic to record sound while filming documentaries. I have an external monitor that's a PRO Am 7" that will go into my AV jack on my Camcorder for viewing with these specifications:
NTSC & PAL Compatible
Displays 480 x 234 pixels
On-board AV input
Headphone Jack
High output stereo speakers
Full function Remote control

Can I hook a mic into my monitor some how? Or is there a mic out there with a hard drive in it that I can use to record while i film simultaneously and then I can sync up the film with audio later?
