Justin Bieber craze? I'm thinking Donny Osmond, or, going back, Frank Sinatra. Who else?

Can you imagine Twitter being around at the same time as they were first popular? How about the Beatles? I shudder to think of it. The airwaves would be jammed for eternity.
@John - how could I forget Elvis?!? I'm ashamed of myself! Elvis + Twitter = worldwide mayhem.

great question but all my names have already been named
but just think the media coverage was way less than is now just the beatles alone would swallow bieber butt in a heartbeat just a year or so ago the beatles movie with actors not the actual band started a small beatles interest in modern teens
the beatles technically broke up in 69 not 70 like people claim so that was about 42 years ago 42 years from now justin bieber will have been a forgotten nobody
does one remember Hanson: my point exactly they were just as popular as leave to bieber

the beatles. so the beatles. policemen had to hold back these screaming peeps. heres a video:

oh yeah.

Maybe that guy who was on the Trump show last night....The one who was unhappy with being called one of the "little people"! Cassidy? I think. David Cassidy. From the days of the Partridge Family.

Dinah - I think you mean Fabian. He was gorgeous. I used to get those teen magazines. Davy Jones was probably the best. There was also a young man named Sajid Khan. Remember? He was really cute. I loved Paul McCarney, still do. I also thought Kurt Russell was really adorable, still do. But I wouldn't call Kurt Russell a teen idol.

I never cared for Donny Osmond or Frank Sinatra. Here's a short list:
Elvis Presley
Buddy Holly
Rickie Nelson
Chuck Berry
Fats Domino
Dion
Johnny Horton
Johnny Cash

I distinctly remember Tiger Beat and Teen magazine dedicating entire editions to Rick Springfield and David Cassidy (The Partridge Family).

However...I'm with you...The Beatles would have crashed servers if the internet had been around back then...

Frankie Avalon was on many a teen magazine cover.
Pat Boone
James Darin
Ricky Nelson
Davy of the Monkees was a smash sensation
And the one and only Mick Jagger still holds court.

Maybe the guy with the one name, that started with an "F". Not Fabio, long ago. Starred in a Western after his hit record. Floppy, wavy hair and gorgeous.

Remembered. Fabian.

well i imagine they all understand how we all get used for money for their careers .......everything on this earth is highly organized...

In the mid 50's there was Frankie Lymon of Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers. And don't forget the early 60's there was Bobby Rydell,Frankie Avalon,Bobby Vee,Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis.

For guys;we had Kathy Young,Connie Francis,Connie Stevens and the mid 60's Nancy Sinatra.
I saw Kathy Young two nights ago on a Doo Wop special, she is still gorgeous.

And these performers have talent.

Edit:Handyman say three Hail Rock & Rolls and you will forgiven.

Sinatra out does them all. I am reading the latest biography, "The Voice" by James Kaplan and the craze was a phenomenon at the time. The thing is, it was not manufactured by publicity agents, except for a few times. It was real. So real, that most young men really hated him. Even worse, when he was rejected as 4F during WWII the hatred was intense.
