what if you had stayed with your first tracker only?

Imagine what it would be like if you had stayed only with the first tracker you discovered. Assume that you would have no knowledge of other trackers even existing, let alone being able to compare the content or speeds or whatever.

I thought about this recently and realized that I'd probably be happy as hell with Bitsoup. I'd have stuck around there and been a member for over 2 years with TBs seeded from home, never even knowing I could have more (or less) from anywhere else online.

I'm not asking which tracker is your favorite or whether you'd be better of or not or what it was. I don't care. But where would you be in your torrenting e-life if that first tracker, your first love, was the only one you'd ever known? Just imagine.

i would be pretty content i imagine. This whole tracker hype is pissing me off a lot, its as if people completely misunderstand what torrenting is about. Not to mention the whole same-person-every-site syndrome.

Well it depends on which tracker I would really consider my "first". My first was demonoid, but I wouldn't really consider it a "private" tracker considering how often it's open, the external torrents, and how people who don't have an account can DL from it.

My first private tracker that actually cared about my ratio/seedtime would be TL, and I think I would've survived just fine. Almost all the content I want is there, with the rare exception of some VC games I get on BCG, and its easy to seed. I think I would've done just fine.

I'd have a tough time keeping a ratio at RevoTT with all the things I'd want to download. That's the only downside of RevoTT, no bonus system and at the same time it's not quite as easy to keep a ratio as at TL if you're anxious to download.

I didn't get into Demonoid untill much later as I was afraid to ask for invites as they were supposed to be just for friends and I had no friends that I only knew online back then.

You are in fact almost exactly describing the first 3 years of my torrenting life on Aradi and yes I was both happier and more content.

I wouldn't still be on my first site, or second for that matter. My needs drove me to find more sources. True, later, after finding FST, that wasn't all that drove me, curiosity was introduced as well.

The first tracker i joined was BWtorrents..and woaah it was like heaven at that time...with all the desi stuff available out there...im still very much active out there....

Can't really imagine how searching for EDM would be if i din't know about trackers like ELek,TT,TR and Satclubbing!!

I stayed to TBy (earlier when it was TB) since 1/05. I'm still active there. It satisfied my content needs and when I decided to join the forums, everyone was (and still is) a lot of fun. I started looking around 6-9 months ago and have enjoyed the new experiences. Chuckled at some of the discussions that had the same arguments, but different players. And have found a few new places I think of as home. TBy is still one of my favorites.

Good topic, OP!

My first was Demonoid and I guess I don't fit the norm here. I am quite happy checking 10 sites, to find where I can get the best quality encode of a movie, or juggling 5 different music trackers to find that FLAC/LOG/CUE I want.

But taking into account, that you said if I didn't know any other trackers (and qualities) existed, then yes, I would be happy with my crap 192Kbps mp3 albums and 700MB scene releases

Nice topic OP.

If I would have stayed with my first tracker then I would be seriously limiting myself to only one type of content since it was BCG.
