That means no gov't option.
But also, no corporate insurance control.
Can the gov't provide a oversight of sorts to open health care insurance providers to smaller local companies like our fire and car insurance? After all more competition for 3 trillion dollar industry should help greatly. Sorry lobbiests on both sides.

Did I miss something?
Regulate interstate commerce is constitutional. Mostly to guarantee the sale of good across boundaries. No state should disallow and product from another state.

I'm all for Trustbustin up oligopolies. Sorry I'm independent I guess not Repub.

The current state of health care is a product of the free market. I thought you guys were against corporate regulation? There is nothing that outside of creating a public option that will force the mega health insurance companies to become competitive (they already are operating as monopoly). On the other hand, car insurance was forced to be competitive from the get-go (you are comparing apples to oranges). Just think about it. Without the US postal service, Fed-ex and UPS would have a monopoly and costs for shipping would be much higher. The difference is that the US post office was established first and those companies have to compete with them.
