discussed it with you? I was just around him 10 days ago and he never acted like anything was wrong. The opportunity was there to ask if there was a problem. No slander, no maliciousness.

If the company does anything, they open themselves up to extreme legal liability. Based solely on the word of another person, they had best do nothing, other than to tell you about it. Proof, director, proof that will stand up in court. Word of mouth is not proof. The accuser needs witnesses, and then those witnesses will have to stand before a judge, and if possible, a jury to be examined as to the validity of their claim against you. Now, if the accuser is trying to intimidate you by making accusations to your employer, then you have grounds to counter this by a charge of harassment against the accuser. Not just the harassment charge, but slander as well. Please remember that the law is NOT one sided. Both sides have protection under the law. If this person has no grounds to make the charge, then they are on thin ice, so to speak, and are most likely that you do not have enough knowledge of the law to know your rights, and what you can do to counter this claim against you. You do have rights, you are not defenseless, and the other person needs proof, and word of mouth, or what is known as "hear say" is not valid evidence. I would make a counter strike against this person and pin them, legally, to the wall and hold them accountable for their actions, under the law. If you can not afford an attorney, look up the state bar association and see if there might be a lawyer that will do the work for you for a low fee, or none at all, or perhaps on a "we win, you pay, if we don't, you owe nothing" basis. There are those who will do this for you. IF the company is stupid enough to try to do anything to you, sue them. One place else to go, especially you versus the company is the state Attorney General. Good luck, and please, stand your ground.
