I think people would care more about what was being passed if they were more directly impacted by the cost of the legislation. Right now, expensive legislation is passed and people don't really feel the impact of the cost, so it doesn't really matter to them. But our children and grandchildren will feel the impact for sure.
What if people had to pay their per taxpayer portion of the national debt by the end of this year? Right now, that's over $100,000 and growing.
