what if osgood schlatters doesn't go away after a few months? I've had osgood for 6 months in my left knee and it shaked now. When I run it turns in and I can't even run fully anymore. I've been playing soccer since I was 3 years old and I have been pushing myself to keep going...I think its gone to my other knee. I can hardly walk. I got diagnosed 3 months after it started. I play soccer and basketball. The doctors told me to go to this institute in troy and they told me the same thing. RICE. Well that doesn't help. I'm afraid in a couple months I won't be able to walk anymore=[. I'm in middle school! MIDDLE SCHOOL!I have my whole life ahead of me=[

You need to rest the leg for the condition to go away. I would hope that they explained this to you. At your age, your bones are not fully fused, but instead are in several pieces. When you run and kick, the quadriceps muscle (on the front of your thigh) pulls on the shin bone just below the knee. That piece of the shin bone is not actually attached to the rest of the bone, and too much pulling from the muscle can pull that piece of bone away from the rest of the bone.

It is important to rest and avoid running and kicking until the bone has time to heal. Continuing to put stress on the bones will make the condition worse and delay healing.
