What If I Got Soap In My Fish Tank? Please Help!?

I was cleaning my fish tank out and cleaning all the decorations in the sink and I think I may have gotten soap on them by accident and then put them back in the tank. Sadly enough, the fish started acting very weird and now they have died.

Now what do I do?
If I did get soap in the tank what do I do before I put new fish in? Like what do I do to the tank?

Please Help!
Thank You!!!

Rinse the tank out extremely well, along with all acessories and the filter, replace the filter media / cartridges. Make sure there is no trace of soap on anything. Then set up the tank with fresh water, add a water conditioner / chlorine remover and allow the tank to run. Before adding fish wait at least a few weeks for the tank to cycle (I usually allow a full month for new tanks, and basically its a new setup since you are starting from scratch)

When changing a tank with fish you don't do a 100% water change, the shock can kill the fish. Instead drain 20% (use a gravel vacuum siphon to clean waste from the gravel) and replace with water (treated to remove chlorine) To remove algea use a algae scrubber (or if the tanks big enough get a plecostomus, they take care of algea really well)

I would clean it with warm water and scrub it with a paper towel (no sope). I would do that than before you get more fish do it again and rinse everything really good and use some water conditioner.
