If it may prove to be of any help, I will tell a detail from my life: I published a book of about fifty or so poems of whom many prominent critics said nothing but the best, and which won quite a prestigious award in my country. That was at the end of my high school in 2006. Today, now that I am MUCH more well-read than then (in the fields of philosophy, anthropology, classic novels, poems), I find it easier to contemplate various deep subjects, but it is virtually impossible for me to write at least a verse! As if I wrote poems easier when I was younger and less learned but full of will for life and admiration for natural phenomena...!
I never have troubles with writing a philosophical essay, though; it's a piece of cake in comparison to writing a poem (to me).
