What has been the cost of the "War on Terror" for the Iraqi people?

There's a lot of talk about the war in Iraq (and sometimes people remember we're fighting in Afghanistan too), and whether people agree with it or not.

What do you think the Iraqi (or Afghani) perspective is? Bush expected that we would be greeted as liberators - were we? Are Iraqis/Afghanis going to view us more favorably or more negatively after the war?

I thought of this question after reading this brief article:
WARNING! Mildly disturbing images:

If that were happening to children around you, how would you view those responsible? Were you aware of the dangers of depleted Uranium, or that we are using it as a weapon? (A WMD, if you will).

Yes we have used depleted uranium for some time because it is effective in penatrating tank armor. Of course war is not pretty but if nothing had been done, it would have been "our children". I am not a war proponent. Nor do i condone Bush etc. etc. but If I had to choose between them and me I choose them and if I were them I 'd hate me too.
