F Firiun Guest Jan 13, 2009 #2 1) NOTHING!!! The mercury is in a vaccum, so is not affected. 2) The reading will decrease, since the barometer works by volumes. OR... 1) You need a new bracket to hold your Barometer 2) Now why would anyone do that? It's stupid!
