I am a single working parent raising 3 children. One of my children decided to miss over 20 days of school. I had received a letter to appear at the school in front of a magistrate and we were told my child cannot miss any more days for the rest of the school year. Well, my child told it upon himself to miss a few more days, unknowing to myself. I received a certified letter the day after school ended to appear in Juvinile family court. It stated that I should get a lawyer. I live in Pennsylvania. Is there anyone who can help me to understand what may or may not happen at this hearing? And possibly any outcomes.

Seeing as how you are the parent, it is your responsibility to see to it that your child goes to school. If you dropped him off at school, and then he missed, that was beyond your control, and I would explain that to the court. Then I would beat my child's @$$!!!
