...can the minor get? I am 15 soon to be 16. My boyfriend and i who have been dating for 3 yrs r looking to move in together. His grandma bought a house that she planned to rent out to ppl so she agreed to rent it out to us (which is right next door to her). We r planning to save money for about a year and then start renting the house and living on our own. We still plan to finish high school and hopefully go to college. We both have jobs and even opened up a joint checking account to save our money. My parents, who are divorced and both love my boyfriend, think im too young and think im gonna drop out of school and get hooked on drugs and all that crap... but we know we r ready and can handle it, so i was looking into emancipation. and i was wondering what kind (if any) financial aid we could get to help pay bills and other expenses... BTW we live in missouri
also idk if u even can get financial aid... like food stamps or sumthin... idk

Here are the big things that you have to show the courts to be emancipated.

1) your parents have to agree to it

2) you have to have an income that will support you on your own, not living with the bf, not living with friends, but paying the rent, the electric the groceries etc all on your own

3) you have to have a reason, wanting to move in with the bf isn't going to do it.

There are other things that need to be met, but if you are asking what kind of financial assistance you are going to get, the answer is none. If you need financial assistance, then you will never get emancipated.
