A lot happens & the plot goes all over the place.
It starts off how you expect from the end of From Dead to Worse. The shapeshifters unveil themselves on national television. Both Sam (& the werewolf motorcycle mechanic who acted as her bodyguard) transform before the crowd at Merlottes. Arlene throws in the towel & leaves with her Church of the Sun cronies.
Shortly afterwards pregnant werepanther Crystal is found partially transformed, bludgeoned & crucified out side the bar. Blames get handed out to both the CotS crew & Jason (yet again). Sookie has to try & discover who actually murdered the werepanther. Things aren't as straight cut as they seem as various bad guys are taking advantage of the situation.
At the same time the war among the fairies escalates into open warfare, with Sookie being targeted by fairy assassins and more family truths get revealed to her.
There are also a couple of FBI agents who have managed to identified Sookie as one of the people who helped 'magically' locate survivors during the bombing in All Together Dead, and she has to try & convince them nothing was unusual
