what happens if you remove the thermostat from a '98 honda civic ex?

i believe that the thermostat is making my car overheat and my dad gave me a recommendation to remove the thermostat. would this cause problem because my car overheats and makes my antifreeze start boiling in the storage container and makin it overflow.
 
it will not cause a problem other then if you car is still overheating you will not know, I would just replace the thermostat that way you know if you have a problem besides your thermostat.
 
ya it is the problem but it needs a stat to keep the car at normal running temp
