Do you mean that you find at the end that you've accidentally left your purse at home? Or you have eaten through a whole meal knowing full well you can't pay for it (frightful indigestion would be the least of your worries!).

You are supposed to make sure you have money before you go into a restaurant. You might get arrested or something for eating and then not paying. Contrary to old beliefs, they won't have you wash dishes.

Expect to be arrested and charged with "defrauding an Innkeeper." The police come-the whole nine yards, IF you can't cover the bill somehow (have someone bring money, etc.).

But don't knowingly do it! The outcome could be criminal record. It's not likely they're going to let you wash dishes.
