What happens if I tear off a crickets long legs before I feed them to my Leopard gecko?

I want to do this so my leopard gecko can eat them quicker so i don't have to worry about the crickets dying or bothering my Leo. My plan is to rip off the legs while I'm dusting the crickets with calcium then I will put them on a dish (like meal worms) and have them squirm around enough to have my leo eat them.
1. Will this work
2. Will they squirm around enough to get my Leos attention
3. Is it still as nutritious as crickets with their legs
4. Suggestions for doing this any different or other ideas for feeding crickets easier
