What happens if i don't pay fedex back for some duties and taxes they have...

...slapped on a shipment? So I shipped an item to China like 3-4 months ago, and fedex just a few weeks ago started sending me bills from duties and taxes on the package, quite hefty bills i must say. I just ignored the first 3 or so letters. Now they have sent me a notice that says they will send more notices and possibly suspend or terminate my fedex account (I didnt know I had one). What will happen if I continue to just ignore them? I dont really use fedex and prefer UPS much more...
 
Fedex did not slap duties and taxes on your shipment.

The government slapped duties and taxes on your shipment. Fedex is merely their agent for collection.

You don't pay, you can deal with the federal government collection agencies.
