What happened to zbattle.net?

I have been doing some reaserch into playing snes online and came across a site that was called zbattle.net. It appears the site has gone down but I see reference to it rather recently. I am wondering if anyone knows what happened? Thanks in advance.
 
Was up a few months ago. It was a blast playing old snes online. I guess the master server owner didn't want to pay his $20 a month to ping all the regional servers. Maybe none of the 1000s of brazilians that used the service couldn't spare a penny...
