my Boyfriend is in the british army (he is in Iraq now). he told me that he is getting out of the army in April and before he find a job,he wants to study.I met some people who are not in the army anymore, but they are studying in the army now.One is doing something with IT.So what does that mean when somebody says that he is getting out of the army?what are the options after the army?my BF is in the army since 7 years now (if it can help).sorry for my english,i am not a native speaker.

Your partner should consider studying in the army get some qualifications and then go and look for a job. The army can pay for his tuition and should be happy to help for a services men than has served as long as your partner has. Your partner should not be worried about the reaction he will get from his superiors.

It means they will no longer be a member of the military. They will do whatever they want with their life. Get a job, go to school, live off of others, be a bum... it's now their choice.

Hopefully he chooses to be an active member of society
