I have a bachelor's degree in Business and am currently going to school for my master's degree in Business Education, which will certify me to teach high school Business. I am 24 years old - I have no desire to work in business, just teach it.
With that said, I cannot decide if I should stick to teaching high school or not.
The market for high school teachers in my State is expected to be VERY TOUGH up until the year 2030 - 2040, when those who were certified in the year 2000 begin to retire. I will be 45 - 55 by then.
So, what I was thinking of doing was earning my MBA after my MEd degree and, then possibly, a doctorate in Business. The MBA will also allow me to teach college and the doctorate will, too.
I could take the MBA program at nights and on the weekend so that I can try for teaching jobs during the day.
What do you suggest?
