What good does it do to get into a debate about which media outlets are "biased"? What..

...does it accomplish? It's obvious that liberals think media outlets have a conservative bias, and conservatives think media outlets have a liberal bias. It's also obvious that some media outlets are deliberately designed to be more conservative, while others are deliberately designed to be more liberal.

The reason the media corporations do that is to get ratings. Trust me: if Fox News thought it could get more viewers and higher ad revenue by leaning left, that's what it would do. Likewise, if MSNBC thought that it could get more ad revenue by leaning right, it wouldn't hesitate. It's a business--that's all it is.

But why debate about it? How would it ever be possible to "win" such a debate, when everyone's viewpoint (and I include myself here) is skewed by his or her own political predispositions?

If you don't like it, turn it off.

When Fox "News" fires investigative reporters for insubordination for not misleading their viewers to the benefit of Monsanto re:BGH... that is kind of important.

Deliberately misleading people... it isn't a question of turning it off. Without integrity, news is no more meaningful than Cuba's or North Korea's state-run media system. American media is support to be the Fourth Estate. But now it is just for-profit crap that doesn't educate the people of a democracy.
