Doing a little research on music - I need a list on what genres there are!
Some things I wish to see in the "perfect answer," for as many listed genres as possible (please do as much as you can!):
1. A brief description using some adjectives, ex. "fast/slow," "relaxed/intense"
2. Some background on the genre's time period or country of origin
3. If it's vague, some further categorization on the types that genre has, ex. "Jazz:" (list different types of jazz)
4. A link to a representative music file of that genre
Numbers 1-3 are really optional because I can find that out on my own after I know what genres there are, but #4, listing a really good example that can be listened to, is very important because it will save me *hours* of research time.
I'll leave best answer voting to other members because I don't know enough about music genres yet to make any qualified judgments.
