What gas is better Premium OR Regular for my 1995 Jeep Cherokee larado?

I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado and I heard that using super is a better alternative than regular unleaded, due to the fact that there is more ethanol in today's fuels.

This this question could also be more general to "older" engines as well.
 
FWIW, the HO 4.0 engine is designed to be run on mid-grade (89 octane, I believe).

If you don't get any problems running regular, go for it. I have to run mid-grade in my '91, or it gets a bit grumbly. (Sadly, the last owner didn't take care of this one)

My last '91 Cherokee ran a straight diet of regular for years with no problems.

In short, the only one that can answer that question is your own Jeep. See what it likes, see what it doesn't like, and stick with whatever works best for you.
