I've read other posts on this subject and their answers and they are wrong! Manufacturers of the software seem to be the ones replying saying their software is free and will do it. Incorrect. I've tried 3 that were recommended by forums like this that DON'T work, because it either doesn't trim (DVDVideoSoft) or adds a watermark, like AVS4YOU (this also distorts it) and Moyea Flash Video MX Pro 6. I have Adobe Premiere Studio and it gives an error when importing the .flv file. I also tried importing with Flash CS3 itself, but it does not import its own .flv file. The file it not corrupt or damaged. It plays just fine, it's just too long for YouTube and needs to be trimmed under 15 minutes. Anyone know of software that is actually FREE and doesn't degrade quality, or watermark it?
Peter below suggested the Moyea FLV Editor, which I already used and is unsuccessful. IT ADDS A WATERMARK and is not free. Since posting this, I've also tried Video Edit Master (since it was said to trim .flv files, but it does not work- only imports .avi and .mpg, and I tried Avidemux 2.5.3, which also does not work- there is an error when importing .flv file. All of these people have said in their postings they work for trimming .flv, but they don't.
