I have a 33 gal flatback hex aquarium. I was looking to add pictus cats, I wondered how many would be suitable for my tank? I know they need a minimum of 20 gal, so I should be fine, but I know they don't like to be alone, they like groups. So how many would be suitable for my tank?
Also, I was wondering what are some attractive tankmates suitable to be housed with pictus?
I currently have a few larger cories in my tank and a few large, fully grown guppies (2.5 in) and I've been told they are big enough to not get eaten by pictus. If they are an issue, I could give them away.
I have driftwood in my tank, anubias nana attached to the driftwood, a medium-large amazon sword, and some small crypts.
-_- I'm not a n00b to the hobby. That "1 in of fish per 1 gallon" is a load of bunk as far as I'm concerned. I've been in the hobby for over a decade, I was just looking to try something new.
You have to take into account the activity level of the fish, their waste output, whether or not they are aggressive fish or territorial, or if they like their space so they can be left alone.
