I have a 28 gallon bowfront tank, and the only fish in there is a Jack Dempsey cichlid about 5 inches long. I really like catfish and am looking to see if I can safely add a catfish to the tank. The pet store has a Rafael catfish that is about 7 inches long, and the owner of the pet store said that since the catfish was bigger and has a tough exterior, he might be okay with the cichlid. Is he right or would that be a bad idea?
If not, are there any other catfish I could add? I also like the red-tailed black sharks but I know they are a semi-aggressive fish so that probably wouldn't work either.
