...and Brooks and his suicide.

And "I have to remind myself that some birRAB aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up DOES rejoice. Still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend."

And the warden saying "Salvation lies within." Hey, that's just a fact of life. Simple yet very powerful.

Green Mile is rated #128 in imdb
Shawshank Redemption is rated #2

Every year that goes by this film grows. Its timeless.

I really enjoyed both, but Shawshank has the edge over the Green Mile for me.

It's a great story, with a great twist. You get to know the characters more, and get drawn into the story more.

Thats not to say that Green Mile was bad, just not as good as the bbok sadly!

Shawshank Redemption. :D

I don't quite 'get' The Green Mile. I've heard the book is fantastic, but I'm not much of a reader.

Shawshank Redemption - Morgan Freeman has such a great story-telling voice that just draws you right in.

I've read both (long before the films) and I enjoyed both but The Green Mile had the edge at the time as it was brought out in installments (King's tribute to how Dickens used to publish his books) and couldn't wait for each new book to come out.

I love those lines - I got tingles up my spine just reading them..............and Morgan Freemans voice is mesmerising.

Shawshank for me definately. The Green Mile was a good film but i have no real desire to watch it again.
