Well here I am once again asking for advise about my car, but surprise surprise! I'm not trying to fix the damned thing this time! I've got a 1994 Buick Century and I want to put an original Delco stereo in it. My car was once a fleet vehicle for the city and they weren't going to pay for any frills, so it's just a bare bones car. Hand crank windows, just radio, no cup holders, all that stuff. So what I want to know is what other GM models' stereos will fit and work in my car. All I really need it the ones with the cassette player in them, but the hard to find Tape deck/CD player ones would be just grand.
I guess my question would be, could I take a stereo from a Cadillac and have it work and fit in my Buick, or is that just not possible. Cause I thought GM parts were supposed to be interchangeable.
I'm sure I could just go up to the dealer and ask for a list of part numbers that would work in my car, but I thought I'd save myself the snobbery I'm sure to receive for asking such a question.
Just a note, I refuse to get an aftermarket stereo. The ones in my price range look awful and can't compare to the sound quality of the Delco.
