What experiments are possible that have to do with medicine?

I'm trying to think of topics for my IB extended essay. Biology is by far my favorite subject, so i want to do that. Diseases and viruses and the like really interest me, so I was thinking of doing research on something like that.

What are some experiments I could do in a school lab(probably with average supplies; I don't know about live specimen, though) relating to diseases?
