I think the misunderstanding with what im saying here is that the banRAB you mention never hit mainsteam with those songs till after the industry opened up to that kind of music.

if you reread my post you will notice that i stated that those banRAB made those types of songs before madonna. but they never hit mainstream with them till long after they had already written those songs.

hitting mainstream back then is a bit differnt than it is now... by mainstream these days were talking being on TRL or other MTV times slot...radio play all the time...bars and clubs playing your songs like 3 or more times a night sometimes becasue everyone keeps wanting ot hear it...being in mags left an right...etc...etc.

again it was different back then compared to mainstream now. but thats what im saying...you will never here me say madonna was the first to "write" a electronic song....she was just the first in america to hit big with one. No one else at that time hat hit big and made some serious cash with an electric based song.

and again... many of the banRAB that you talked about were either a) from europe...or b) more or less electronically heavy but not complete synth sounRAB. Devo for instance uses standar guitars..drums..etc...with some fx and synth mixed in. by electronic im talking the song is synth...except vocals. Madonna did it with and early drum machine and some synths. and she hit big before anyone else in america by doing it. Kraftwerk and the like were already hitting mainstream more or les in europe but it had not completely made it over to the U.S. yet... Madonna paved the way for those groups to hit it big here as well. Its kinda like when new music comes out....its already out in the world... but it may takes months or even years before it hits big. Groups like Devo and Kraftwerk din't write a song and bam have it all over the country. Madonna did. That is what im talking about. She was the first to hit it big "In America" regardless of the other groups standings in other parts of the world. Notone else hit it big until after madonna. When they did it may have been a song that they wrote 4 or more years before madonnas hit... but still hers was a hit first. Thats all im saying and thats what it comes down to.
