What exactly are the major government or financial benefits black people receive...

All or Nothing

...just for being black? I hear white people speak of all the benefits blacks receive from the government to help them get ahead because of the aftermath of slavery. These people say blacks have it so good so why are they still failing? Why can't they get themselves together like every other race. White people say blacks are whiners and complainers, and all they do is sit on the porch and complain while the white people are getting up in the morning and going to work.

Now we can argue that no black person today was a slave. That's no debate.

But can honestly say there is no aftermath associated with slavery of a group of people? How do they rebuild their lives?

Now the question are:

What are the government benefits black receive to help build back their families and finances from the aftermath of slavery?

And if so where does a black go to receive these benefits?

People don't usually recieve benifits for being a member of a race and usually get them for being poor. and why wouldnt black people be poor they have spent a long time as uneducated slaves. They aren't like the Europeans, Latin Americans or East Asians that come from countries where they recieve education. Especially Asia where education is paramount. In fact for generations they have been excluded from education and denied access to cultural and social capital. They do not have all the built in cultural subtleties of succes that mainstream america and immigrants have they have generational poverty built on slaverty: they don't have middle class families to pay for their education. So while black people aren't slaves today they are still exceptionally poor due to the legacy of slavery.
The overall benifit of investing money in black people through benifits, education and community outreach is that it helps mend this divide and incorporate black people into the mainstream. It helps give them these things that if they don't have the gap will continue. There is a return. Its not just guilt money.

Example---- Obama and Michelle both going to Harvard. And Michelle also going to Princeton.

Why did they both get accepted? And why did the Taxpayers pay their way?

Affirmative Action, Quotas, and Promotions.

All Racist Programs.

But..... give blacks Credit. Many blacks are Speaking Out Against these Racist Programs.

And these blacks are proud and compete On Their Own.

And.... look at all the White Democrats who have been on Welfare for Generations!

Certain government jobs give priority to certain minority groups that are under-represented. In California, this means if you are black or hispanic, you have a better chance of getting certain state jobs. This also could apply to certain city and county jobs.

The problem with this system is that to really help a population that needs more jobs and education, the effort has to be placed at all levels, especially grade school. Unfortunately, most grade schools in minority areas are lacking in money and good teachers because money for schools comes predominately from the city tax rolls.

I think all schools should be funded equally through a federal government system.

While some may say those things, you are incorrect to assume most of us say it. And as for benefits, etc., there are hundreds of social programs geared towards making them dependent--in other words--modern day slavery. So you have it wrong when you think the hostility is at the black people or the millions of OTHER races including whites who receive benefits. We all (including many blacks) are angry at the government for keeping them (poor all races) exactly where they are to stay in power.

The only benefit that I can think of is affirmative action. They do not to my knowledge receive any other financial assistance that would not be available to any other race.

As to your comment about blacks suffering from the aftermath associated with slavery as a group...I disagree with your assumption. No one forces a black kid to not do well in school. I don't care how many cracks are in the school's walls or how lousy the teacher is...if a kid wants to learn (and they will learn if the parents are involved in what is going on), they can learn under any conditions. Education is the key to most success stories in this country. There are a few people who have made successful lives that did not have a decent education, but they are a rarity. Many blacks see themselves as victims and continually blame others for their lack of success. I just don't buy it. Look at men like Martin Luther King, Jesse Jackson, Obama and countless others in the public eye that are black. How did they become successful? They worked for it. Poor blacks are their own worst enemy. Instead of teaching their kids to do well in school and keep their kids away from gangs and drugs etc, they complain about how bad they have it. Sorry, if they don't change...nothing else is going to change. And that...is a direct quote from Martin Luther King.
