What engine oil for a 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara.?

Hi,

I bought a 2000 model Suzuki Grand vitara, 1.6L 4 cylinder petrol a few months ago, and had planned an oil change today, I have the new filter, but as a manual didn't come with the car, I don't know what spec of oil to put in it. I have about 6 litres of 20W50, and was hoping to use that, but i cant find a website anywhere that i can find out what suzuki recommends. If you know a site, can you let me know?
 
Suzuki most likely recommends 5w30 which is the standard motor oil for any modern vehicle and i have no idea why people keep putting different oils in.

hope this helps and good luck! Also, you can simply call the dealer and talk to the service dept., they'll know! Definitely do not put in all 6 litres!
