the symbol is separate to the other warning lights (in the middle at the top of the dash) and is the same light as the light which comes on if your handbrake is on. i checked the coolant the other day and it was empty! i filled it up as soon as i realised but the light is still on. if anyone has any idea what the warning light is i would be most grateful. ive had the car for years and its never come on, ive also checked all the lights, the oil and the steering fluid which are all ok.
