What does this sentence exactly mean, especially the "not even"?

I read this sentence "But not even Google feels immune to the worst financial crisis to grip the world since the U.S. stock market crashed in 1929." Does it mean not only Google can be immune to if so but also what? I am not quite sure. And does the "grip" here mean to get the world under its control? thank you.
