Blissfully Floating upwards
Gracefully Waving her delicate wings
At peace with the maginificence of nature
Glances down only to capture a spectators eye
Drawn to him she caresses his shoulder
Enchanted by her beauty he captures her
Placing her in a crystal dwelling
Where he might treasure her beauty in solitude
Dusk to Dawn She dances for him in continuous flight
Staying in his constant sight.
While she is infatuated with her keeper
She yearns to feel the gentle wind
Finally she pleads with her protector
She promises her return
Just needing some time
And space to embrace the afternoon sky.
Wanting to keep her and afraid she'll get lost,
He locked her up within her dwelling
Not realizing that without air
She was suffocating under his watchful care
Dusk to Dawn she dances for him
Constantly in his never moving sight.
Until one day she lay lifeless and still.
Oh, what a fool how could he not realize she was ill
In an attempt to revive her, his hold he releases
Letting her roam and dance wherever she pleases
He looks up for her in the afternoon air
But in his field of vision she is not there.
Glancing back to her crystal dwelling
It is then he realizes there will be no more dancing.
As he watches tears form in his eyes
Silently, peacefully she lies.
