What does this Indian word mean ????? 'Ellora'?

What does this word mean and why was it chosen as the name for the Ellora Caves in India? I would love to know if the name Ellora was chosen because it means something or if the caves or city were named Ellora simply because it was a pretty name. Does anyone know why the caves or city were called Ellora?
