What does the final verse mean in the Ballad of John and Yoko?

Caught an early plane back to London.
Fifty acorns tied in a sack.
The men from the press said, "We wish you success,
It's good to have the both of you back".

I know they sent acorns to world leaders hoping that they'd plant them, but I'm not sure what the quote refers to. Does anybody know?
