wat i mean is do u make a full fledged career out of being in a reserve? can u get deployed? u get paid? if so, is it good pay?

crappy pay you most certainly can be deployed you do get paid though it's based on your rank. Most people don't stay a reservist for 20+ years though.

Being in a reserve is sort of like the National Guard. You do basic training and advanced training, but then you just have to come in for 1 weekend a month and 2 weeks a year for training. It is not a full fledged career, it is a side to your civilian career. You can indeed get deployed, but to my knowledge it is usually in a supporting role, not at the front lines . You do get paid, but not as much as regular troops because you do not put in the time they do.

The pay is not as good unless you get deployed or are at your MOS then you get base pay for active duty. Your family only recieves benefits when your AD. Its good for some people and can help you get ahead, but I would say AD is better.
