i'm doing an essay and have never really been told what to include

so what does discussing the language entail.
what do i need to talk about?

i'm sorry if you find this a stupid question btw.
:T

You're concerned with how and what was communicated through speech (words/language), so ask yourself a few questions: Was it easy to understand?, Was it descriptive?, Was the vocabulary age appropriate?, Where excessive colloquialisms or slang used?, Was there a formal style of expression?, etc.

Discussing the language in a book usually means to discuss the way the author writes. For example, the language in this book is transcendental. The author speaks very philosophically.
It's okay, it's not a stupid question.
I wonder if it's even correct to say "discuss the language in the book"...
