What does it mean when the engine of a Dodge Caravan says "Chrysler"?

Im interested in buying this used Dodge Caravan, its a 1995, but supposedly only has 67K miles... and in the picture showing whats under the hood, I noticed that the engine block says Chrysler .... could this mean that the engine was replaced? Or are chrysler and dodge just closely associated with each other?
